Dr. Erin Duralde is driven to help people live well and unburdened by illness throughout the life course. She received her MD from the University of California, San Francisco and completed internal medicine primary care residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC). She is currently a Mass General Brigham Population Health Leadership Fellow. During her residency, Dr. Duralde maintained clinics at both BIDMC’s academic primary care practice and Fenway Health, a federally qualified health center and leader in LGBTQ+ care. She co-founded the BIDMC Innovation Group, an organization dedicated to providing community and training for residents interested in improving healthcare delivery through innovations in technology, business, and health systems.

During medical school, Dr. Duralde conducted research in urinary incontinence and sexual function in women and developed a novel graphical survey instrument of erogenous anatomy with urology colleagues for use in research. She presented her research at the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health among other conferences and published several articles. While at BIDMC, her research focused on investigating disparities in ICU clinical trajectories toward end of life, as well as the determinants of patient retention and loss in an academic primary care practice. She is a staunch advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and was part of a successful campaign to change BIDMC’s electronic medical records system to correctly identify gender-diverse patients.

While at the Brigham, Dr. Duralde is training under Dr. Heather Hirsch’s mentorship in the Menopause and Midlife Clinic at the Fish Center as well as providing urgent care at the Jen Center for primary care.
