Hyeonmin Ahn, postdoctoral fellow

Hyeonmin Ahn, Ph.D. is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Medicine in the Division of Women’s Health. She obtained her MS and PhD, both in cognitive neuroscience from Korea University, Seoul, South Korea. In her Ph.D. studies, Dr. Ahn worked on the neural mechanism of the internet game craving using functional MRI and the effects of non-invasive brain stimulation for food craving regulation. Her current research interest is focused on understanding the brain mechanisms of stress-eating behavior in relation to hormone changes and sex differences.

Current Research

Dr. Ahn is currently working on a project investigating the association between the hormone and functional brain activity response to stress-induced eating behavior in Dr. Laura Holsen’s Lab. One of her research interests is understanding sex differences in the association between brain functional connectivity and cortisol and ghrelin in response to stress.
